Susan Todd has been teaching private and group piano for over thirty years.  Graduates from the program have continued their music studies at the college level.  Mrs. Todd has a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with a teaching emphasis, from Wichita State University in Kansas, and has taken further training at Kansas State at Portland State Universities.  Mrs. Todd studied piano with Jean Ellington, Robert Roux, Paul Reed, Robert Edwards and John Rommereim and piano pedagogy with Marguerite Miller and Mary Hall Kogen.

Susan Todd is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM), having received NCTM status from the Music Teachers National Association.  MTNA’s rigorous certification process is based on five standards and assures that the NCTM has undertaken Professional Preparation, follows Professional Practices in Teaching and Business Management, maintains Professionalism and Partnerships with fellow teachers, and continues to improve through Professional and Personal Renewal.

Active in the Oregon Music Teachers Association, and Music Teachers National Association, Susan Todd is currently serving as NW Division Certification Commissioner and Portland District OMTA Secretary.  Mrs. Todd is also involved in Oregon Federated Music Clubs, Beaverton Festival group, organizes recitals with the West Side Recitals Club, arranges for student performances at Cornell Estates and Avamere Senior Centers, and performs regularly at Calvary Lutheran Church and with the piano 8-hand group, “Too Grand” (pictured above.)
